Never in my life did I think that I would become interested in Hot Wheels. But I guess when you have a boy, you really have no choice. You either learn to like playing with cars or they’ll hound you and whimper until you take pity on them and start making car noises and crawling around on your hands and knees.
Now, I find myself searching out the coolest stuff for playing Hot Wheels. No longer am I satisfied with just sitting on the floor and having the cars putt putt around me. Oh no. I’m trying to figure out the best way to make them crash. First my husband picked out the plain old orange tracks. You can buy the pieces and put them together as you like. We picked them out to stick in my son’s Easter basket, figuring that he was still a little young (20 months) for anything more complex than that. Ever since then we’ve been looking for the Loop, but it always seems to be sold out whenever we’re in the toy store. So when I was in there the other day, returning something, I decided to take another look for it. No luck. But they did have the Jump. Ooooo…..this looked pretty good. And it fulfilled all my expectations.
PROS:
- Price
- Recommeded age is 5-9, but my son just turned 2 and he loves it
CONS:
- Ummm…can’t think of any, except that maybe all his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars don’t work on it. Some are either too light or too heavy. But is that really a con?
This one gets a rousing thumbs up. Most definitely buy this if your son or daughter is into their diecast cars. They’ll have hours and hours of fun. And Mom and Dad probably will too, for that matter.
