To say that I love these flip flops is an understatement. I became a big fan of these about 5 years ago, after reading about them. The article mentioned how they were, pretty much, the only thing on people’s feet in Brazil. Everyone wears them there, young and old alike. Supposedly they never lose their shape, they never smell, and the straps never get loose. On top of that, they’re made out of a really soft, pliable rubber, so they’re really soft to walk on. So what’s not to love? Well, nothing, as far as I can see.
Since that first pair, which were olive green, I’ve bought several more. Not because they’ve worn out, just because I like to have color options. I think I own a total of 10 pairs at the moment. I’ve tried so many other flip flops over the years, including Teva, Reef and Rainbow, and these, by far, are my favorite. Not that the others are bad, but because they just don’t stand up like these do. The Tevas wear out (the rubber breaks down and gets flat, and you get little foot prints on the rubber), and the Rainbows look old and dirty as soon as you put them on your feet. Don’t get me wrong now…the Rainbows and Tevas aren’t bad, they’re just not As Great as the Havaianas. And the Havaianas are cheaper too!
Read the story about Havaianas…it’s pretty interesting.
