Product: Cortaid Poison Ivy Care – Removal Scrub
Purchased at: Local Target store
Price: $10.49

Why oh why oh why do I always get poison ivy? Ugh. Unfortunately I’m one of those people that catch poison ivy just from looking at it. So over the years I’ve tried everything (Caladryl, Tecnu, Zanfel, even Fels Naptha soap, just to name a few). So when I find a good treatment product I try to stockpile it. The product that I’ve been using for the past several years is Zanfel. But it’s REALLY pricey, at $35 a tube. Now if you’re like me, there’s no amount too large to pay when it comes to getting rid of poison ivy. Heck, I’d probably pay $135 to get rid of it.
But this time was different. I ran to my local Target store, thinking I’d just grab a tube of Zanfel and be on my way. But when I got there I saw a tube of Cortaid Poison Ivy Care-Removal Scrub sitting right next to the Zanfel on the shelf. I picked it up and read the back and it seemed to be very similar. And at $10 a tube it seemed like it was worth a shot. I’m SO glad I checked it out because it worked just as well.
Now, for some reason I wasn’t able to find it online, being sold separately. It’s being sold as a set online – with the Removal Scrub and the Treatment Spray, for $28.89. But I found it at my local Target store, just the scrub, for around $10.00.
PROS:
- The scrub binds with the toxin urushiol, and then washes it away
- Can be used before you see any bumps
- The scrubbing beads feel great on itchy skin. You can itch away, without feeling guilty.
- Does not contain Hydrocortisone
- Works on Poison Ivy, Poison Oak and Poison Sumac
- Price (cheaper than Zanfel)
CONS:
- None that I noticed
