Products:
Loreal Clean Artiste Waterproof & Longwearing Eye Makeup Remover – $6.49
Loreal Makeup Remover – $6.59, and
Aveda Pure Comfort Eye Makeup Remover – $16.00
I’ve tried tons of these over the years. I always end up going back to my old standby, Loreal Eye Makeup Remover, and once again I’m going to be going back to it. This time, I tried 2 others – Loreal Clean Artiste Waterproof & Longwearing Eye Makeup Remover, and Aveda Pure Comfort Eye Makeup Remover. Both were HUGE disappointments.
Now, the Aveda remover I decided to try, after reading glowing reviews about it some women’s magazine. The article said that it removed absolutely every type of makeup they tried. Well, apparently they didn’t try Cover Girl Lash Exact mascara, because it SO did not take it off. Not even close. The Loreal remover, on the other hand, I tried because it was a new product, in fancy packaging and it was sitting right next to my ‘old standby.’ I figured, it’s new, from the same brand that I already love, and apparently it removes waterproof makeup too. So how bad could it be, right?! Hmmm….It didn’t work either. How in the world could they have changed the formulation so badly that it now removed less mascara than the older version? I mean, c’mon.
So, once again, I’m back to my old standby. I can’t say it removes absolutely everything, but it’s the closest I’ve found to-date. And believe me, I’ve tried a lot. After these 2 bottles run out I’m going to be trying a couple of others that I’ve seen recently – Olay Specialty Cleansing Mascara and Makeup Remover ($6.79), and Lumene Sensitive Touch Eye Makeup Remover ($5.99). If anyone has any experiences with these, good or bad, let me know!
