Tweezerman

Tweezerman

Product: Tweezerman Slant tip tweezers
Purchased at: Local Ulta store
Price: $20.00
Recommend: Yes

So is there really a difference between different brands of tweezers?  Well, if you ask me, then yes, absolutely.  Everyone’s got at least one pair of tweezers laying around in their bathroom, right?  In my house, we have at least 4.  Well maybe 5.  Or possibly 6.  I have them in different shapes, and different sizes and even a mini ‘travel’ tweezer.  With all this experience with tweezers, I think that makes me an expert on what makes a good tweezer.

First off, if they’re not super sharp then it’s almost impossible to grab splinters, hairs, or whatever you’re looking to grab.  I used to make the mistake of buying the ones with rounded edges….ugh…useless when trying to grab a splinter.  But recently I discovered a use for those, right after my son Finn was born.  Boogers!  With the rounded edges you don’t have to worry about puncturing anything accidentally when putting these somewhere that they absolutely do not belong.  Note: Do not try this at home.  So Ma – put down the phone, there’s no need to call DSS.  Your grandson was not injured during this process.

One of the other reasons why I love Tweezerman tweezers so much is that they have a lifetime warranty.  I recently checked this out when I sent in my pair of tweezers, to be sharpened (which they’ll do as often as needed, at no charge).  The downside, I had to purchase a 2nd, back up, pair to use while I was waiting the 4 weeks to get my sharpened pair back in the mail.  But now I’ll always have a pair on hand whenever I’m getting a pair sharpened.  This is a great option for all those ‘Green Heads’ out there too….one less dull tweezer in the landfill, right?  This is how you get around the higher price, which is about double the price of most other brands…you never have to buy another pair of tweezers for the rest of your life.  Perfect!

PROS:

  • Super sharp – they can grab even the most miniscule things
  • Free sharpening for a lifetime
  • Winner of Allure/Brides/InStyle – 2009 Best Beauty Buys award
  • Made by Zwilling J.A. Henckels, a worldwide manufacturer of precision stainless steel cutlery and implements

CONS:

  • Price (but in the long run the price is worth it because you’ll ever have to buy another pair)
